Girl Scouts of Western New York

Invest in girls. Change the world. This global day of giving harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. We believe that when girls succeed so does society. Girl Scouts of Western New York (GSWNY) is the region's preeminent girl leadership organization dedicated to girls. We help every girl discover who she can be by providing the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. A girl's leadership potential blooms among other girls - away from school pressures, social cliques, and boys - where she can be herself and try new things. Girl Scout activities are girl-led. She learns by doing, and the learning is cooperative, not competitive. Whether she’s building a robotic arm, setting goals for her cookie business, improving the environment through a service project to earn her Girl Scout Gold Award, or climbing the ropes course 40 feet in the air at camp, a Girl Scout has an exciting array of choices to suit her interests at every age. Girl Scouts takes the potential of girls, combines it with robust skill-building programming, and adds caring adult mentors and strong female role models. She’ll be inspired to discover her talents and passions in a safe and supportive all-girl, girl-led environment. Being a Girl Scout helps girls thrive in five key ways. As a Girl Scout, she: • Develops a strong sense of self • Displays positive values • Seeks challenges and learns from setbacks • Forms and maintains healthy relationships • Learns to identify and solve problems in her community At Girl Scouts, “Can I?” quickly turns into “I will!” as girls transform their ideas into action, turn their questions into adventure, and grow their confidence through practice. Every gift matters. Can we count on yours today?
