Finger Lakes Community Action

Finger Lakes Community Action is "Coordinating resources to empower and inspire people in need to reach their full potential." To fulfill this mission, we offer a diversified family of programs. It is through the amazing work of volunteers and donations from people like you that help us continue our programs in Wayne and neighboring counties! Finger Lakes Community Action's Foster Grandparents program nurtures service opportunities for "grandparents". Volunteer opportunities for this program are available to people 55 or better living on a fixed income, making this a wonderful project for those looking to give back after retirement while still earning a tax-free stipend. Head Start/Early Head Start provides comprehensive services to pregnant women, infants, toddlers, preschool children and their families. Services provided include education, health, nutrition, family services, parent involvement and mental health. Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a group of adults 55 or better that volunteer their time, talents and experience to meet the needs of their community through volunteer work. The Second Chance Transitional House can house up to 16 homeless residents, with a veteran focus. The residents are provided with a 24-hour staff, including a veteran's specialist that will empower them to work towards self-sufficiency. Youth & Family Behavioral Recovery Services provides intensive and overnight respite, clinical evaluation as well as waiver & skill-building services. Wayne Parenting Education Program services provides Intensive Parenting Education & Support, parenting in the jail, drug and alcohol abuse prevention, violence and teen pregnancy education, prenatal and newborn assistance, and ACT (Assisting Children through Transitions) a NY State certified program providing information for families who are separating or divorcing. The Weatherization Program is committed to helping low-income residents save money by reducing their heating and energy costs through cleaning & repairing heating systems, installing insulation & weather stripping and replacing windows & exterior doors. Finger Lakes Community Action is always there to extend a helping hand, keeping hope beating in the hearts of those in need. Dedicated to empowering people and alleviating poverty through diverse programs and services in the Finger Lakes region, Finger Lakes Community Action is Helping People and Changing Lives. We can't continue to do what we do without help from YOU!
