Foodlink

Foodlink is a Rochester-based nonprofit serving Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates counties. For more than 40 years, we have leveraged the power of food to end hunger and build healthier communities. Through good stewardship, innovation and collaboration, Foodlink mobilizes a diverse network of more than 700 community partners to eradicate both the symptoms and root causes of hunger. Foodlink’s community health programs provide new access points to nutritious and affordable food in underserved communities -- and empower individuals and families to make healthy choices through nutrition education initiatives. Our food banking operations distribute millions of pounds of food to a network of nonprofit members, and provide hunger relief for thousands of local residents. The Foodlink Community Kitchen nourishes thousands of children daily with healthy meals, and prepares people for culinary careers through a one-of-a-kind career empowerment program. Finally, we realize that systems change is required to reduce food insecurity and poverty, and have elevated our advocacy efforts for a just, more equitable food system. Foodlink prides itself on making the most of every dollar donated, evidenced by the fact that 94% of all donations go directly toward our programs and services. Making a monetary donation is the most efficient way to help Foodlink reach those in need.

Double Your Dollars

Since 2003, the physicians at the Lindsay House have been committed to supporting children overseas with much-needed, free surgery. Since 2019, they have partnered with Foodlink to give back right here in our community by ensuring children and families across the region receive the nourishment they need. Realizing both the high levels of local food insecurity and Foodlink’s critical role in feeding our community, the Lindsay House has graciously offered another ROC the Day matching gift! This generous challenge match will double the impact of your gift on Giving Tuesday! Join us as we work to provide wholesome food for families, prepare thousands of meals for Rochester students, and deliver programs that address the root causes of hunger.
