Hi everyone! 👋🏻 We are Becky and Ashley, the founders of ABC Wildlife Rehab, Inc. We are located in Upstate NY, where we were both born and raised. We share a love for animals of all species, starting back as young children. We took the steps in 2021 to become licensed wildlife rehabbers through the NYS DEC, which allows us to legally raise injured and orphaned wildlife. Shortly after, we incorporated ABC and became a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit wildlife rescue. Our goal is simple; rescue, raise, rehabilitate, release. We welcome as many animals as we are able to properly keep up with and nearly all of our time is spent outside of working real jobs caring for these animals. We receive no funding or salary. It is done out of the kindnesses of our hearts and our love for saving animals. We rely on donations from our amazing community to keep up with such a high volume of intakes. Here at ABC Wildlife Rehab, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. We are a small group of volunteers full of love and compassion for animals. ABC Wildlife Rehab targets sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife for rehabilitation. We provide food, shelter, basic protocol and veterinary care as well as round-the-clock feedings for those who need us most. Our success certainly isn’t measured in terms of wealth or profit, but by the value we provide to animals who live often harsh lives outdoors or even mistreated by the community. From 2021-2023 we have rescued almost 600 animals including possums, birds, rabbits, various squirrels, reptiles, chipmunks, various rodents, foxes, minks, groundhogs, and more. Our ultimate goal for these animals is a safe release back into the wild when they are older and ready and/or healed. Most of our residents get a “soft release” back into the wild, slowly transitioning them and preparing them for the final release.
