Benincasa is a two-bed home for the terminally ill located in Mendon, New York. We are currently in our 21st year of caring for the dying. We accepted our first resident in October, 1996 and since our opening have cared for over 425 residents.
The mission of Benincasa is to ensure that terminally ill persons choosing hospice style services receive compassionate and competent care in a loving and secure environment. We also provide emotional support for our residents and their loved ones. Benincasa is entirely nonsectarian in philosophy. Our specific goals are threefold:
1. To care for the dying;
2. To provide support to their family and friends;
3. To be a source of education and support to the community at large.
To meet our annual budget, Benincasa relies solely on fundraising, memorial contributions, donations, United Way donor option and grants. Residents and their families are not charged a fee of any kind to stay at our home and we do not receive any insurance payments or reimbursements.
As always, our greatest need is for funding for the continued care of our terminally ill residents and their families.
We thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity.
