Black Physicians Network partners black physicians with each other and the community to address disparities in healthcare and promote excellence and innovation in our youth.
We recognize that our youth are our most precious assets. We know that financial barriers can often times be roadblocks to the fulfillment of their dreams. This is why we have committed to providing financial support to help our youth face the challenges encountered as they pursue their dreams of careers in medicine. Financial support to cover the cost of books, applications, summer learning opportunities, college tours, and many other costs associated with fulfilling their dreams.
Many youth lack tangible role models and we have worked to provide students with opportunities to meet and learn from others at various points of the educational pipeline to careers, not only in medicine but also STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields. Role models that have themselves sucessfully overcome the numerous challenges they will face.
Black Physicians network has been actively involved in preparing our youth for success by giving away school supplies at many Back to School Events. We have provided hundreds of Rochester youth with the tools to start school ready for success.
We have conducted health conferences to educate the community about health and wellness topics and have participated in premedical conferences to help youth considering medical careers learn more about what is required and begin to get the tools they need for success. We have provided emergency funding to medical students that would not have been able to continue their education without assistance. We have given thousands of dollars in scholarship money to students to help address the unrecognized costs of pursuing a career in medicine.
We are a 100% volunteer organization designed to ensure that all monies go to support our community and our youth.
