Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program

Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program facilitates the placement (adoption) of retired race horses from the Finger Lakes Race Track located in Farmington, NY. Stop in at the Purple Haze Center barn (located on the grounds of Finger Lakes Race Track - only adoption center located on the grounds of a race track in North America) and visit with our horses awaiting a new home - they love to have visitors of all ages. Volunteers are needed throughout the year for various fund raisers or daily to assist with the horses (horse experience required). Our horses have gone on to second careers in eventing, pleasure riding, polo or just a fun pasture mate for other horses. We have an internship program for high school and college students - learn about horses, the business side of racing and see how it all fits together.
