Henrietta Public Library Friends & Foundation, Inc

The Henrietta Public Library Friends & Foundation is a non-profit group dedicated to helping the library fund special programs and projects for all ages, toddlers to adults, to help promote reading and promote the use of the Henrietta Public Library. Some of the programs your donations helped to sponsor during 2022 and 2023 are: - The Rochester Children's Book Festival held November 5, 2022 at Rochester Institute of Technology and November 4, 2023 at Monroe Community College. - The Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival held September 24,2022 at Frontier Field. - The 2022 and 2023 Minerva Campbell Awards for Senior and Junior High School writers. Students submit prose and poetry writings to the Minerva Campbell selection committee and cash awards are given to the Senior and Junior winners in each category. - Henrietta Public Library's 2022 Tiny Art Show in which over 200 artists of all ages designed tiny canvases that were displayed in the library's atrium this summer. - Henrietta Public Library's Divali Celebration, for the Indian Festival of Lights, on October 22, 2022 and November 11, 2023 at the Library. - The Henrietta Public Library Summer Book Giveaways in 2022 and 2023. - The Bike Rodeo held in the Henrietta Public Library's parking lot on May 5, 2023 with ice cream treats following the event. - Funding for diverse presenters: Herb Smith and the Freedom Trio's concert at the Henrietta Public Library on July 29, 2023, and Chris Thompson's Capoeira classes held through the Henrietta Public Library on July 22 and 24, 2023. - Various Adult Craft Events - Donations helped to provide craft supplies for various adult craft classes at the library. These popular events were held on various dates in 2022 and 2023. An additional day was added in 2023 since there were waiting lists for each class. - Youth services events in 2022 included the Halloween After-Hours Party for teens in October, 2022 and our special Noon Years Eve celebration for young children and their families in December, 2022 during the holiday break week. In 2023, the Youth Services Department brought in two visiting artists, one for a town and school district multicultural night and another for summer reading. Please help us to continue providing these and other events that provide enjoyment for all of our young and mature patrons respectively. Thank you.
