Genesee Land Trust

Thanks to supporters and friends, Genesee Land Trust has saved 7,500+ acres of woodlands, wetlands, farmland, and waterways - forever. We are proud to be Greater Rochester's local land trust, serving people and communities in Monroe and Wayne counties, as well as parts of Ontario, Livingston, Orleans, Genesee, and Seneca since 1989. Your gift today will benefit generations to come. Help permanently protect more land and water, create more public nature preserves, and connect more people to nature. In the face of climate change and rising development pressure, forever-safe green spaces are more critical now than ever for our health and future. From wildlife habitats to family farms, from trails to birding and fishing spots, Genesee Land Trust has protected more than 20 unique places you can visit, including: - Gosnell Big Woods in Webster - Corbett's Glen Nature Park in Brighton - Irene Gossin Nature Preserve in Penfield - Salmon Creek Nature Preserve in Hilton - Cornwall Preserve in Pultneyville (one of the region's few Lake Ontario public access points) - Macyville Woods Nature Preserve in Sodus Point - Ganargua Creek Meadow Preserve in Macedon In the City of Rochester, we've spent 20+ years helping create and maintain the Thomas R. Frey Trail at El Camino and Conkey Corner Park. Farmland Protection: We work with local farm families to conserve their land, ensuring the production of local food on 4,000+ acres of working farmland. In the next 3 years that Our Genesee River Alliance program is helping people access and appreciate the Genesee River's beauty. The program is also advocating for the proposed NY State Park at High Falls, and the inclusion of Edgerton and El Camino communities in the planning process to ensure everyone benefits from this opportunity. Thank you so much for your support.

Mark Cronin - a new donor in 2023 - wants to inspire more people to join the effort to protect local land and water. When 20 people make their first gift (of any amount) on Roc the Day, Mark will donate $1,000. Every dollar donated to Genesee Land Trust goes to keeping waterways clean, saving wildlife habitats, supporting local food production, and connecting thousands of people to nature.
