We work with local landowners to protect the most important natural resources in the Genesee Valley. Our nature preserves provide miles of hiking and riding trails for the public to use and enjoy all year long. We also provide upwards of 500 acres of lands for educational uses for class field trips and research projects. The bulk of our conservation work comes from partnering with private landowners to ensure their important properties are protected from harmful development.
Currently we protect over 16,840 acres of lands and are working actively on protecting another 6,300 acres in the coming year.
In the final quarter of 2018, we are acquiring a 50 acre forest in Wayland with a high quality trout stream. Your support will help us create a management plan and open this beautiful land for educational and recreational uses next year.
