Children's Institute

Joining together to raise every child’s complete well-being Children’s Institute helps children and adults with cost-effective and research-proven preventive strategies centered on social and emotional development, raising every child’s complete wellbeing individually and collectively – and in a manner responsive to culture and equity. Together, we can all help this moment of great challenge for children to become a moment of great growth for all, through such offerings as: • Systematic screening of children’s social and emotional adjustment in K-3 classrooms (Primary Project) and comprehensive developmental needs in Pre-K settings (Get Ready to GROW) that optimize child professionals’ and parents’ time. • Play-based intervention led by paraprofessionals that is highly effective in resolving children’s moderate risk behaviors in K-3 classrooms (Primary Project) and behavioral supports and consultation in Pre-K settings (Behavioral Supports for Children). • Equity-based and systemic integration of social and emotional learning in schools and with parents to universally promote children’s wellbeing across their developmental continuum (Whole Child Connection and the Rochester Area Parent Program).
