The Community Place of Greater Rochester is a neighborhood based organization that meets the needs of people where they live. We are a trusted resource that helps all generations to achieve the dreams they have for themselves and their community.
Born from the merger of the Lewis Street Center, Genesee Settlement House and Eastside Community Center; Community Place serves residents in Northeast Rochester. We have three neighborhood centers where we use innovation and resourcefulness to deliver a variety of high-quality, cost-effective health and human service programs to people of all ages.
We prepare our children and young adults for success in school and in life with programs from Universal Pre-Kindergarten and Foster Grandparents to after school programs that build student leaders.
Our Disability Services Program provides care and activities for young people with disabilities and much needed support for their families.
Family Services programs supply aid to people to meet basic needs and also help to build life skills and provide emergency services in times of financial crisis.
Our Aging Services programs run throughout Monroe and Livingston Counties. These programs provide daily opportunities for socialization, nutrition, and case management services. Our Foster Grandparents and Senior Companions are volunteers who help children succeed in school and assist frail elders so that they can remain in their homes.
Community Place activities focus on academic success, personal and social development, health/fitness and college/vocational preparation. All of our activities are aimed at building stronger neighborhoods, a stronger community and a stronger Rochester.
Your donation today can help us providing care for those in our community who are working to better themselves. Your support can show in books for our after school literacy program, backpacks and school supplies for your children and art supplies for our youth enrichment programs. Your support will make a difference for people in need of emergency assistance for food or providing for something special during the holiday season. Your support will enable us to provide additional educational and enrichment opportunities to children in our early childhood, after school, developmental disability and senior programs.
