Joyful Rescues

Founded in 2003 by four passionate women, Joyful Rescues has placed over 19,000 cats and dogs into loving forever homes. Our rescue takes in cats, dogs, puppies and kittens from abandoned/owner surrenders, puppy mills, and high kill shelters. While awaiting to be adopted, we provide love and medical treatment (including vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, and spay/neuter) to all pets in our care. Our cats have their own Cat House" to romp and play or lounge on perches and gaze out the windows. Our dogs have a Dog House (kennel building) for puppies and recently received dogs (during their 14 day quarantine period). Once spayed/neutered, if not quickly adopted, they come into the human house which has a doggie door open 24/7 to 8 acres of fenced-in lawn, woods, and even a pond for swimming! Although we are based in Cuba, NY, the Greater Rochester Area has become our focus and we are excited by the great strides we have made and the incredible generosity of the Rochester Community this year: 🐾Over half of all adoptions that take place from Joyful Rescues go to loving homes in and around Rochester. 🐾Our Rochester volunteer group has taken on a life of its own with over 50 volunteers assisting on adoption days at Webster PetSmart. And we so look forward to the Artful Gardener Annual Cabin Fever and several other events where we are asked to show pets. 🐾Our foster program has grown in Rochester as many of our local volunteers foster cats and a dog (or two) in the comfort of their home teaching them how to love, be loved and how to acclimate to the daily life of a home. 🐾We accept many pets from pet owners in Rochester and surrounding communities that have fallen on difficult times. We would like to thank the Greater Rochester Area community for their continuous support and generosity. We couldn't be where we are today without you and we are so grateful for the unwavering enthusiasm for our collective cause.
