TBF: Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival

Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival Inc was formed to help fund and raise money for TBF: The Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival. TBF is a coordinated effort between school and public librarians across two counties. TBF brings together teens, parents, teachers and librarians from all over our region and connects them with over thirty authors who write for teens. Our goal is to keep TBF FREE to attend so that cost is never a barrier to connecting teens and authors. Set up like a conference, attendees get to choose which author sessions to attend and we incorporate over 300 volunteers throughout the day! And we make it FUN! Our main target audience is readers in grades 6 through 12. Adults are welcome to attend, but they will be asked to give up their seats for teens who are waiting for a seat. The sessions at TBF vary depending on the author or author pairing. Teens get to ask questions and learn about the writing process, where they get their ideas, and much more. They also learn tips about becoming a published author themselves! Besides the author sessions, TBF also features drawing, writing, and performance workshops for teens as well as sessions featuring teens who have published books. What TBF does best for teens is give them a safe and fun place to connect not just with authors, but also with other teens who enjoy books and reading. Over the years, TBF has reached tens of thousands of teens and with your help, we can reach even more. And we can keep it FREE to attend! Thank you for considering TBF for your ROC the Day donations! And join us for TBF 2020 on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at RIT, 8:30am - 5:00pm.
